I feel like a hero when I find a way to reduce pollution. Even though I may not get any recognition for my work, I know I’m doing an important job.

Gathering and testing field samples takes time and patience because I carry heavy equipment. And sometimes I’m near polluted air or water that gives off unpleasant odors. The smells make me nauseous.
