As a multimedia specialist, you must make sure the images you use will fit on every size computer screen. The lowest resolution screens are 640 X 480. If you want all visitors to be able to view the images you use, then the images will fit on the smallest screen.
To determine whether an image will fit properly on a screen, calculate the size of the image in pixels and compare that to the screen resolution.
A photographic image is 1600 pixels wide and will be shown on a screen with a resolution of 57 PPI.
If the screen is only 15 inches wide, this photograph will be too large to show on the screen and you will have to make it smaller.
Perform the following calculations to determine whether an image will fit the screen that it will be displayed on. Round pixel width to one decimal place.
